Scientific payload

The scientific payload of the satellite consists of five GNSS antennas, each connected to two low-cost receivers. Four antennas are mounted on the zenith-facing side and one antenna is located on the side. In addition, CubETH will carry three very small retro-reflectors for satellite laser ranging measurements required for orbit validation purposes.

The 10 single-frequency GNSS receivers are mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB). The receivers are commercial off-the-shelf products - very small in size, weight and power consumption. They provide multi-GNSS navigation solutions and raw measurements. The receiver PCB is connected to an additional PCB containing the control unit and main processor.
